Ceramic four-legged, two-headed dog effigy vessel of red clay with red slip and black painted designs. 6" width, 8 1/2" length, 1 3/8" outer edge diameter of opening. Triangular-shaped heads with pointed ears, and deeply incised eyes and mouths. Figure is hollow with opening in center of back. Late Formative-ProtoClassic. Colima, West Mexico. [San Sebastian style, Nayarit, according to Taube 1988:80].
