Migrated MorphoSource 1 Media File Title: Right navicular Migrated MorphoSource 1 Media Group Title: Right navicular Migrated MorphoSource 1 Media File Description: The downloaded model appears as a left side element because scanner used reverses chirality relative to conventions of processing software used. Migrated MorphoSource 1 Media Group Description: This media group does not include any raw microCT slices even though the data was generated by a microCT scanner. These data were with held because the scans were not made of the original specimens, they were made on overlapping half casts of the specimen. This is the best method of getting high resolution 3D images of specimens that are too dense to scan directly (as is the specimen represented by these media due to pore-filling hematite). "overlapping half surfaces" of each scanned cast were then made in Avizo. These surfaces were then cropped and then aligned and merged into the final result posted here using Geomagic. This is better than scanning a single two piece mold because it avoids flash line distortion.
